Brown, Diane C. age 64 of Brainerd died on March 11, 2019 at Essentia St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

She was born on July 29, 1954 in Minneapolis to Wallace and Clarie (Faue) Brown. She was a seventeen-year kidney/pancreas transplant survivor.

Diane was an enrolled member of the Red Lake Ojibwa Nation. She graduated from the Robbinsdale-Cooper High School, Class of 1972. Diane was known for her homemade Halloween costumes. As her death approached, Diane was filled with love and peace. She told everyone she was going home now to heaven to see Mom and Dad and play scrabble with them.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Diane is survived by one brother, Wallace Brown Jr. of Blaine; one sister, Theresa (Jerry) Glendening of Merrifield; a nephew, Dakota (Kodi) Glendening and a great niece, Paisley Glendening both of Fort Ripley.

Preceding Diane in death are both of her parents and her grandparents. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Woodland Hills Chapel at the Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. If desired memorials may be sent to Wallace Brown, 10494 Buchanan St, Blaine, MN 55434. Arrangements were with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.

So sorry to hear of Diane's passing. While reading her obituary and learning that she was a transplant survivor, it gave me a glimpse into the struggles she lived through in her life. Her thoughts about her passing and then getting to play scrabble with her parents in heaven made me smile. The last time I saw her, which was at the reunion in Hamel where we had a potluck, she was such a joy to talk with. She had brought a huge wild rice casserole and was delighted to share it with us. She was proud of being a member of the Red Lake Ojibwa Nation. We all had such a fun time at the reunion. Enjoy your scrabble games dear Diane.
